Tailored Group Experiences

Our station offers tailored trip durations to fit every group’s requirements, with a minimum of 20 individuals during the season and a quota of at least 80 passengers for a charter trip. For detailed information regarding our educational rates, teachers and group leaders are encouraged to reach out to our Passenger Sales Manager at 423.894.8028, ext. 1017.

Ride the Rails on the Missionary Ridge Local

Join us on the Missionary Ridge Local, an exciting train ride that winds through the beautiful Tennessee landscape. This journey offers a unique glimpse into the past, allowing children to explore the Chattanooga Grand Junction Station, witness a real railroad turntable in operation, and even take a sneak peek into the restoration shop. To enhance the educational experience, we optionally provide age-specific railroad safety videos or seasonal exhibits in our depot theater, when available.

The adventure doesn’t stop when you step off the train. You can enjoy our outdoor railroad exhibits and a large picnic grove, perfect for a leisurely meal and a break from the summer sun.

Delicious Boxed Lunches

To keep your energy levels high for the adventure, we offer a variety of delectable boxed lunch options. Choose from ham or turkey croissant sandwiches, chicken salad croissant sandwiches, classic hot dogs, corn dogs, or kid-favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. All of our meals come with a side of crispy chips, a sweet cookie, and a refreshing bottle of water.

Nature and History Unite: The Hiwassee Field Trip

Our Hiwassee Field Trip is an exceptional opportunity for students to marry education with adventure. This 75-minute excursion whisks you through the breathtaking Cherokee National Forest and the lower Hiwassee River Gorge. The journey commences at Gee Creek State Park near Etowah, TN, and promises an immersive exploration of nature’s beauty and the integral role railroads have played in American history.

Planning your Trip: Policies

When booking a trip, a refundable 20% deposit is due, which can be returned if canceled at least 30 days prior to the trip. Final payment and passenger count for the Missionary Ridge Local trips are due a week before the trip, whereas, for other trips, these details are needed two weeks in advance.
