Celebrate with Steam Engines: Missionary Ridge Local Founders Day Event
This September, we are excited to announce that we will be going back to our roots. Come join us on Saturday, September 7th, as we run the Missionary Ridge Local with double steam engines for the entire day!
Here’s a breakdown of the ticket prices:
- $90 for the Cross Keys Tavern ribbon cutting and dinner
- $5 grounds pass – this amount can be redeemed towards any ticket or pass purchase
- $25 for a Day pass that allows unlimited MRL rides
- $18 for an adult MRL ticket
- $12 for a child MRL ticket
However, the celebration begins a day earlier, on Friday, September 6th, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. For $90, you will not only get to be part of the unveiling of our newly restored Cross Keys Tavern dining car but also enjoy cocktails and a delicious dinner on board. This package also includes a Saturday unlimited day pass.
On Saturday, the Founders Day event will go on all day and will feature historical interpretations, shop tours, and turntable demonstrations. You will also get the unique opportunity to see double-headed steam engines in action throughout the day. For those wanting an even more exciting experience, cab rides will be available for purchase.
The MRL schedule will be as follows: 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:30 pm.
