Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled tea time to allow for check-in and seating. Once service begins, late arrivals may not be accommodated.

• A train ride is not included unless you select the Tea with Train Ride option at booking

🍵 What is included with the Christmas Tea experience?

Christmas Tea includes a full holiday high tea service featuring premium seasonal teas, savory bites, sweet treats, and freshly baked scones. Guests are seated in a festively decorated upstairs tea room at Grand Junction Depot and enjoy a relaxed, unhurried dining experience.

🚂 Is a train ride included with Christmas Tea?

The train ride is optional. Guests may choose Tea Only or Tea with Train Ride when booking. The train option includes a vintage Missionary Ridge Local ride that takes place after your scheduled tea seating.

⏱️ How long does the Christmas Tea experience last?

Each tea seating lasts approximately 75 minutes. Guests who add the train ride should allow additional time for check-in and the duration of the train excursion.

📅 Do I need a reservation for Christmas Tea?

Yes. Advance reservations are required, and seating is limited. Dates often sell out during the holiday season, and walk-up availability is not guaranteed.

The menu features a curated selection of premium teas, finger sandwiches, holiday pastries, sweet treats, and freshly baked scones. Menu offerings may vary slightly by date and availability.

🥗 Are dietary accommodations available?

Limited vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options may be available with advance notice only. Guests should contact the museum prior to booking, as same-day accommodations cannot be guaranteed.

💳 Is gratuity or alcohol included in the ticket price?

Gratuity and alcoholic beverages are not included in the ticket price. Seasonal champagne cocktails and other beverages may be available for purchase on-site with valid ID.

Christmas Tea is a seasonal holiday experience, available only during the winter season and set in a festively decorated tea room. The Homefront Tea Room is a separate, non-holiday tea experience offered at other times of the year.

About Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum:

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is a railway museum located in Chattanooga and Delano, Tennessee. It was established in 1961 to preserve and operate historic railway equipment for the education and enjoyment of future generations. The museum features a variety of vintage trains and railcars, including steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, passenger cars, and freight cars. Visitors can experience the history of rail travel through excursions, exhibits, and hands-on activities. The museum operates on a historic rail line, offering scenic rides through the Hiwassee Loop and providing a unique perspective on the region’s history and culture. With its rich heritage, educational programs, and engaging events, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is a must-visit destination for railway enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

As a non-profit organization, it takes a lot of resources to restore and maintain our vintage trains and equipment. In fact, it can cost up to $1.5 million to completely rebuild a steam engine, which must be done every 15 years or sooner.
