From the Archives – Steam 630’s 1988 Chattanooga Choo Choo Visit
In 1988, steam engine #630 made a surprise run to the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel to pick up 50 members of the Southern Railway Historical Society. The sight of a working steam engine pulling into a landmark hotel was unforgettable — a perfect example of TVRM’s ability to blend hospitality with operational heritage.
Why Ride This Weekend
Every ticket you buy supports TVRM’s non-profit mission to preserve and operate vintage equipment. Rebuilding a steam locomotive can cost up to $1.5 million and must be done about every 15 years. Your participation keeps history in motion.
