The total experience lasts approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, including boarding, the train ride itself, and Santa’s visit with each family on board.

Where does the trip depart from?
All Summerville Santa Special rides depart from the Summerville Depot located at 120 E Washington St, Summerville, GA 30747. The depot is in the Eastern Time Zone.

When should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to allow time for parking, check-in, and boarding. Trains depart promptly at their scheduled times and cannot be held for late arrivals.

Is the train heated?
Yes. All passenger cars are enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort, ensuring a cozy ride no matter the weather outside.

Will Santa be on the train?
Absolutely! Santa makes a special appearance on every Summerville Santa Special to visit with children and pose for photos. Elves will accompany him throughout the train to help spread Christmas cheer.

Are restrooms available?
Yes, restrooms are available both on board the train and inside the Summerville Depot before departure.

Is food or drink provided?
Guests receive complimentary refreshments including hot chocolate, chocolate milk, and cookies. Additional snacks and beverages may be available for purchase at the depot.

Can I bring a stroller or car seat?
For safety reasons, strollers and car seats cannot be used on board the train. You may leave them in your vehicle or at designated storage areas near the boarding platform.

Is the trip wheelchair accessible?
Historic rail cars and stations were built before the advent of technology which accommodates people with special needs. Our rail cars and the Summerville station were not designed to accommodate wheelchairs safely. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recognizes the limitations of such historic rail equipment and expressly exempts trains and stations of this type from accessibility requirements. Though we cannot accommodate wheelchair use or access within our historical passenger cars, all persons who can board the train themselves and occupy a standard passenger seat are welcome and encouraged to ride.

The Summerville Santa Special operates rain or shine. In the unlikely event of severe weather or unforeseen operational issues, passengers will be notified by email or phone regarding rescheduling or refunds.
