Celebrate New Year’s Eve aboard a vintage dining train.
The New Year’s Eve Dinner Train features a three-course dining experience served aboard beautifully restored dining and Pullman railcars. Departing from Chattanooga’s Grand Junction Station at 6:45 p.m., the train travels at a relaxed pace through portions of urban East Chattanooga before reversing direction and returning to the station. The timing is designed to comfortably enjoy a full meal in a classic railcar setting.
The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum offers this special evening as a dining-focused rail experience where great food, attentive service, and vintage ambiance take center stage. Guests select their entrée when booking and may choose from Dining Car seating (tables for up to four), Pullman Car Clover Colony (tables for two), or the exclusive B&O Private Car No. 98, a beautifully restored private railcar that seats up to eight guests for an intimate New Year’s Eve celebration.

Dine in true luxury aboard this beautifully restored private railcar. Originally built in 1912 for the President of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, Car No. 98 features an elegant private dining room and accommodates up to eight guests. The full Dinner Train menu is served onboard, making this an ideal option for private celebrations and special occasions. -
We do not have a formal dress code for the dinner train, but most passengers seem to enjoy dressing up a bit.

The trains board at our Grand Junction depot, located at 4119 Cromwell Road in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chattanooga is in the Eastern Time Zone. Please check the calendar for dates of operation and departure times.

Can children ride the Dinner Train?
This experience is best suited for adults and older children. While children are welcome, it is not recommended for guests under 8 years old due to the length of the meal service and the quiet, dining-focused atmosphere. Ticket pricing and menu offerings are the same for adults and children.
Dress Code & Etiquette
There is no formal dress code for the Dinner Train, but many guests enjoy dressing up for the occasion. This is a relaxed yet refined dining experience designed for conversation, service, and enjoyment of the meal.Out of courtesy to fellow guests and our onboard staff, we kindly ask all passengers to be mindful of noise levels during the meal service. Our dining staff will be dressed in period-inspired attire to enhance the classic railcar atmosphere.

What sights will I see on the Dinner Train?
The Dinner Train follows a historic rail line through portions of urban East Chattanooga, including rail yards, bridges, and the Missionary Ridge Tunnel. Along the route, guests may glimpse local landmarks such as the Chattanooga Zoo, Warner Park fields, and the Chattanooga National Cemetery.Please note: this experience is dining-focused and does not travel through scenic mountain or river landscapes.

Gratuity and alcoholic beverages are not included in the ticket price. A selection of beer, wine, and specialty beverages is available for purchase onboard.
