🛤️ Honoring the Tracks of Time
In August 1979, two of TVRM’s treasures—steam locomotive No. 4501 and the 1858 Missionary Ridge Tunnel—were added to the National Register of Historic Places. These recognitions shine a light on the museum’s decades-long effort to preserve the railways that helped build the American South.
This Saturday, ride the same rails that carried freight and families generations ago—onboard the very locomotive that sparked a national rail preservation movement.
