(VIDEO) – THANK YOU FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE THOMAS WEEKEND AT TVRM!

Thank You for an Unforgettable Thomas Weekend at TVRM!

What a weekend! From steam whistles to bubble stations, smiling faces to joyful memories—Day Out With Thomas™ at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum was everything we dreamed it would be and more. As we close the book on the 80th Anniversary Party Tour, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every guest, volunteer, and team member who helped bring the magic of Thomas & Friends™ to life in Chattanooga.

It’s not every day a beloved blue engine from across the pond rolls through Grand Junction Depot. But for one incredible weekend, families got to step into a world where imagination, steam, and childhood wonder came together in a truly special way.

What Made This Event So Special

This celebration was packed with family-friendly experiences that sparked curiosity, laughter, and connection. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights:

  • 🚂 Train rides with Thomas the Tank Engine™—a joyful introduction to real rail travel for many little ones

  • 🎨 Activity zones with tattoos, mini golf, and balloon animals

  • 📸 Photo ops with Sir Topham Hatt and the star himself, Thomas!

  • 🫧 Bubble stations and live magic shows that kept the energy high all weekend

  • 🔥 A rare sighting of steam engine #630 sharing the rails with Thomas—where history met storybook magic!

This was more than an event—it was a living, breathing experience that united generations through play, learning, and railroad heritage.

Three Common Questions After the Event

1. Will Thomas return to TVRM?

Yes! While he’s heading out on his global tour, we’re thrilled to announce that Thomas will return to Chattanooga in 2026. Sign up for our newsletter to be among the first to know when tickets go on sale.

2. Where can we see more trains in the meantime?

TVRM offers train rides year-round, including the popular Missionary Ridge Local, Dinner Trains, and seasonal specials. Check out our ride calendar at tvrail.com.

3. How can we support the museum?

You can help preserve rail history by becoming a member, volunteering, or donating. Every dollar supports our restoration work and future educational events.

A Moment to Remember

One of the most powerful images from the weekend was the moment Thomas passed steam engine #630 on the tracks. It was a symbolic reminder that while technology and storytelling have evolved, the joy of trains remains timeless. At TVRM, we take pride in preserving that joy—not just through exhibits, but through real, working experiences that inspire and educate.

It’s these moments—seeing a toddler wave at the engineer, hearing a grandparent share their childhood train memories, watching a volunteer proudly guide guests aboard—that show us why we do what we do.
