Halloween Eerie Express

Passengers begin by boarding a vintage train for a trip over four bridges and through Missionary Ridge Tunnel. Once arriving at the Funhouse Station, riders disembark and enter the Funhouse area.

  • Experience a spooky vintage train ride!
  • Enter the Eerie Fun House for some gentle thrills!
  • Enjoy games while you’re there!
  • Get a bag of treats to take home with you!

Features include storytelling, a tour through the “gentle thrills” Eerie Fun House, blacklight mini golf, games, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, ride back to Grand Junction, and a bag of treats for the children. A festive Halloween experience! The event is a little over an hour and a half in length. The fun house is a 20-room, 2,000 square foot “old time” fun experience.

This family-friendly trip will get your fall started off right. Something different for families to enjoy together! Designed for families with younger children, it is NOT a haunted house and you will not be scared by anyone jumping out from behind a wall!

The entire family will enjoy the evening with a train ride, storytelling, indoor blacklight mini golf, temporary tattoos, cider, and a walk through the Fun House with each room themed a little differently with special lighting, interesting decorations, and many surprises! All children holding a Halloween Eerie Express ticket can pick out a mini pumpkin and a goody bag, too.

What time? Departures are 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on most Fridays and Saturdays in October, with an additional departure at 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays only. This earlier time is ideal for those families with young children who need to be in bed early!

Children are encouraged to wear their costumes, and we’ll have a contest with prizes for the best costume (boys and girls.)

Try our Depot Deli inside Grand Junction Station where you can get a good supper! Extended hours are featured just for Eerie Express passengers until 7:30 p.m.
