We offer two field trip options to fit your curriculum needs: the Chattanooga-based Missionary Ridge Local, which includes a guided depot tour, restoration shop visit, and a live turntable demonstration; and the Hiwassee Field Trip, a scenic ride through the Cherokee National Forest with educational group rates. Your class can also enjoy outdoor exhibits, a picnic area, and optional boxed lunches to make scheduling and supervision easier.”

Missionary Ridge Local – Chattanooga

A teacher-friendly field trip with built-in learning:


• Train ride + depot tour
• Restoration shop visit
• Live turntable demonstration

Outdoor exhibits, picnic areas, and $12 boxed lunches available (ham, turkey, chicken salad, hot dog, corn dog, PB&J — all include chips, cookie, water).


Hiwassee Field Trip – Delano

A scenic educational ride through the Cherokee National Forest and the Hiawassee River Gorge.

20% deposit required; refundable up to 30 days before visit
• Final count/payment due: 1 week prior (Chattanooga) / 2 weeks prior (Hiwassee)
• Changes must be made 48 hours in advance
