Steam Meets Storybook: Ride with Thomas & #630 This Weekend at TVRM!
Step into a world where imagination meets engineering marvels! This Sunday, April 13, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum invites families, train enthusiasts, and young adventurers alike to experience an extraordinary event—Steam Meets Storybook—as Thomas the Tank Engine™ teams up with the legendary Steam Queen #630.
From awe-inspiring steam power to playful stations filled with bubbles, magic, and more, this event is your ticket to joy, education, and time travel. Whether you’re reliving the nostalgia of childhood or watching your child fall in love with trains for the first time, this weekend promises unforgettable moments.
🌟 Celebrate Living History with Steam Engine #630
Steam Engine #630, lovingly nicknamed the Steam Queen, is no ordinary locomotive. Built in 1904 by the American Locomotive Company, this 2-8-0 consolidation-type engine served freight lines before being preserved by the dedicated restoration team at TVRM. Now celebrating its 121st year, it continues to operate thanks to a passionate commitment to railroad preservation.
This is a unique chance to ride beside a true iron giant of a bygone era—and even upgrade to a cab ride for an exclusive, behind-the-throttle experience (age and attire requirements apply).
