It's a great day to visit the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum!
If you're in the Chattanooga area, you can enjoy one of our history-rich departures from Grand Junction Station, located at 4119 Cromwell Road just two miles from the Chattanooga Airport. Grand Junction is approximately 10 minutes or less from I-75 Exit 1 (TN/GA State Line), Exit 4A and Exit 5 (Hamilton Place Mall), and only 15 minutes from downtown. Excursions departing from this station feature a ride through the Missionary Ridge Tunnel -- opened in 1859 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
For a scenic trip through the Cherokee National Forest, you may want to try our Hiwassee River Rail Adventure. These excursions leave from the old L&N Depot at 727 Tennessee Avenue South in Etowah, TN, and feature a short shuttle ride from the depot to the train boarding location. Please note there is no connecting passenger rail service between Grand Junction and Etowah. To take one of the Hiwassee trips, you must drive to Etowah in order to catch the train.
If no excursions are listed on this page, then we simply aren't running passenger trains today. However, we encourage you to check our master calendar of excursions under the "Choose Your Train" tab in order to find the next day on which we have trains scheduled to operate.
