--Road Construction--

The Chattanooga Opens in a seperate window. has reported an early notification of upcoming high-impact lane closures at the I-24 and I-75 interchange. We strongly suggest either planning for this in travel time or seeking an alternate route.

For travelers coming from Alabama and West Tennessee via I-24, one potential route is to take US Hwy 27 north to State Hwy 153 and south to Jersey Pike (Exit 3).

February 21, 2006

It is with great sadness that we announce that TVRM co-founder and President Robert M. Soule passed away peacefully at home this evening. He had been a member since helping to charter TVRM in 1961, and President for the past 25 years. His steady hand through both periods of growth and difficult financial times have shaped what TVRM is today, and will be in the future.

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 4–7 p.m. and on Friday from 11–1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, at the Chattanooga Memorial Park with Rev. Carl Armes officiating. The pallbearers will be George Walker, Rick Taylor, Mike Usher, Gene Crumbley, Tommy Crumbley, and Russell Bonder. Interment will follow at the Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Mr. Soule's obituary can be found here.

End of a Season

Today marks the final day of our regular service: The Missionary Ridge Local. We're still running a few more days of the North Pole Limited (Dec 19th and 20th). If you haven't taken a special little someone to the North Pole yet, tickets might still be available on an extremely limited availability. Check the North Pole Limited page for more information.

The 2006 operating schedule is still under development. Check back frequently for updates.

TVRM on the Web

TVRM has a new web hosting provider. For the past two years, TVRM member John Craft has been extremely gracious in allowing us to use some of his personal web space for the TVRM website for free. With numerous expansions in the works, we're looking to greatly expand our presence on the World Wide Web; thus increasing both hard drive space and traffic bandwidth requirements. It was recently decided that TVRM should purchase its own space and free up valuable resources for John. If you're reading this then you're now viewing us from the new web host!

A big Thank you! to John for all the time and help he's provided over the last two years.

TVRM members: Keep your eyes open for the implementation of a members-only section. More information, including login directions, will be provided shortly.
