Since 1999, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum has been carrying all the good boys and girls of Chattanooga and surrounding areas to the North Pole for a visit with Santa Claus. Chickamauga Christmas Train Marks The Season
Fast becoming a holiday tradition, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga will be operating its annual "Chickamauga Christmas" train on one special evening. The vintage railroad ride is an afternoon run to Chickamauga, Georgia, for dinner at Lee & Gordon’s Mill on Saturday, December 16. This well-appointed, diesel-powered excursion train departs from Grand Junction Station in Chattanooga (Jersey Pike exit #3 from Highway 153, near I-75 exit #4) at 4:15pm for a leisurely trip to Chickamauga. In Chickamauga, passengers will travel by bus to Lee & Gordon’s Mill for a holiday meal served in the festively decorated dining hall. Following dinner, patrons are offered a tour of the meticulously restored 1836 gristmill, which sits beside Chickamauga Creek. The evening features a run back into Tennessee after nightfall with anticipated return to Chattanooga around 9:45pm. Tickets are $73 per person for the excursion which includes dinner. Departs from Grand Junction at 4:15pm, arrives in Chickamauga at 5:55pm. On the return trip, departs from Chickamauga at 8:00pm and arrives at Grand Junction around 9:45pm.
